Can a true Christian be an Environmentalist?

To answer this question requires yet another question.
"What is the definition of a true Christian?"
Here are the words of Jesus!

The Book of Saint John,
Chapter 15
Verse
1:
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2:
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch
that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3:
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4:
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except
it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5:
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the
same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6:
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and
men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7:
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and
it shall be done unto you.
8:
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my
disciples.
9:
As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
10:
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept
my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
11:
These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and
that your joy might be full.
12:
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13:
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his
friends.
In other words, a true Christian follows the teaching of Jesus, and God the Father, as written in God's word the Bible!
So what does the Bible say about Man's role on Planet Earth?
The Book of Genesis,
Chapter 1
Verse
26:
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of
the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27:
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him;
male and female created he them.
28:
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply,
and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of
the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that
moveth upon the earth.
29:
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is
upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit
of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30:
And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every
thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given
every green herb for meat: and it was so.
31:
And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.
And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Man was given the Earth and all that is in it, by God. Man's to manage and subdue. Everything. The mountains, rivers, valleys and deserts. Every herb and tree. Every animal, fish and bird. Man was created to have complete dominion over ALL the earth. Every square inch is his to possess under the authority of God Almighty!
But what about "protecting" the planet from man's abuses?
The Earth is Man's to manage, not destroy!
The Book of the Revelation,
Chapter 11:
Verse
17:
Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast,
and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast
reigned.
18:
And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the
dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto
thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name,
small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
God will judge all who give no regard to the earth!
But what about "Nature Worshipers" Who feel that man has no more rights than any other species?
The Book of Exodus,
Chapter 20:
Verse:
3:
Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4:
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any
thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is
in the water under the earth:
5:
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD
thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the
children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
The Book of Exodus,
Chapter 23:
Verse:
13:
And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no
mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.
The Book of Deuteronomy,
Chapter 5:
Verse:
7:
Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
8:
Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing
that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the
waters beneath the earth:
9:
Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD
thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the
children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
10:
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my
commandments.
11:
Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD
will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
To worship any creature or created thing is Idolatry! In God's eyes, it is sin to worship ANYTHING, other then HIM!
